Welcome Dr Michael Zhang
Dr Michael Zhang is a dedicated General Practitioner who enjoys all aspects of general practice, with a strong focus on chronic disease management and preventative medicine. He is committed to supporting patients in achieving long-term health through early intervention, education, and personalised care.
Australian trained, Dr Zhang completed a Bachelor of Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne, followed by a Doctor of Medicine at Deakin University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), reflecting his commitment to clinical excellence and ongoing professional development.
In addition to English, Dr Zhang is fluent in Mandarin, providing valuable support to Mandarin-speaking patients within the community.

Who is eligible for a free flu vaccination?
Flu vaccines are provided free of charge under the National Immunisation Program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged six months and over, children aged six months to under five years, pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy, adults aged 65 years and over, and people aged six months and over with medical conditions that put them at higher risk of serious illness. When should I get my flu vaccination?

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Immunisation Now Available!
1. Pregnant women to protect their newborn infant
2. Young infants up to 8 months old only:
• whose mothers did not receive RSV vaccine in pregnancy, or who were vaccinated less than 2 weeks before delivery
• who are at increased risk of severe RSV disease, regardless of their mother’s vaccination status

Everything you need to know about Boronia

Are you a bulk billing clinic?
We offer mixed billing consultations Monday to Saturday, with gap fees applied to Medicare card holders aged 16 and above and OVHC card holders. We will continue to bulk bill DVA/Age Pensioners, Concession Card holders, and children under the age of 16. Bulk billing is also still available for short consults (e.g. script repeats, sick/carer certificate, administering vaccination). -
What is mixed billing?
Mixed billing is where the cost of the service is not covered entirely by Medicare, requiring you to pay a private fee upfront. We will then submit a claim to Medicare on your behalf, and you will receive a rebate from Medicare. This means there is an out-of-pocket cost to you which will vary depending on the service.

How will the fee be processed?
You will be charged the full amount of the consultation fee to your credit or debit card at the end of your consultation. We then process your Medicare rebate on your behalf electronically. The rebate should appear in your bank account within 1-2 business days. Alternatively, please bring your debit card with you on your visit, and we can process your rebate on the spot. Please make sure you have provided your updated Medicare details and have sufficient funds in your account.

What is private billing?
Private billing only applies to patients without Medicare or private health insurance, excluding newborn babies. Unlike mixed billing, private billing charges patients the full amount of the consultation fee to your credit or debit card at the end of your consultation.

Which languages are supported for services at your clinic?
Patients of all language backgrounds are welcome at Myhealth Boronia. Interpreters can be arranged during your consultation at no additional cost if required. Alternatively, our doctors offer services in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and are proficient in conversing in Bahasa Melayu/Malay and Hakka.

At Myhealth Boronia, we provide physiotherapy, podiatry, dietitian, psychology, and counselling services. Patients are encouraged to discuss their allied health service requirements with their doctors during consultations.
