Meet Dr Jessalynn Chia
Special interests: preventative health, dermatology and skin checks, minor procedures, women’s health and antenatal care, child health, lactation consultations, therapeutic ultrasound for clogged ducts and issues on the mastitis spectrum.
Jessalynn graduated from the University of Melbourne (MD) and subsequently worked at The Royal Melbourne Hospital for a number of years. During this time, she gained broad experiences in surgical and medical terms as well as specialty terms including dermatology and women’s health with joint appointments at The Royal Women’s Hospital. In 2019 Jessalynn completed further qualifications in Dermatology (Dip Dermatology) and Child Health/Paediatrics (SCHP).
As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Jessalynn also provides a specialised lactation service to support mothers and families through their breastfeeding journey. She takes pride in offering a holistic approach, empowering patients in planning for breastfeeding during pregnancy and throughout their journey after giving birth. She also offers holistic evidence-based treatment for a range of breastfeeding-related issues, including clogged ducts and conditions on the mastitis spectrum, using interventions such as therapeutic ultrasound in conjunction with indicated medical treatment.
Aside from medicine, Jessalynn enjoys spending time with her young family, traveling and serving in her local church.
